Parts and Crafts is a hackerspace for kids and their friends — an open community workshop for kids and grownups who don’t mind learning alongside kids, to build, tinker, experiment, and make things together. Our main public program is Saturday Open Shop, from 12:00 to 3:00 every Saturday. We also run drop-in afterschool programs, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Open hours are free and member-supported — regular participants and users of the space and tools are highly encouraged to become a member to help us keep the space running. If you want to know more about resources we have available, or how we make them available, have a look at our tools and tool policies page. Everyone is welcome, though kids should generally have parental accompaniment, grownups should be aware that certain kinds of kid-unfriendly behavior aren’t okay, and parents should beware that the space is busy, loud, and contains many sharp and hot things for careless people of all sizes to injure themselves on..
